About The Jump Rope Index
Hi! I'm Kamryn! I have been involved in the sport of jump rope for 10+ years, a competitive Jump Roper for 7 years, and been to 6 different national and Grand National Championships. I've jumped with the YMCA Super Skippers in North Carolina for 7 years. I am also a trained difficulty judge so if you have any questions feel free to reach out.
Over the years I realized that I love the sport of Jump Rope but I've been doing more harm than good to my body by continuing to compete despite chronic pain and injuries. I have decided to step down from competing but still judging and helping out when I can.
Throughout my time as a competitive Jump Roper I realized that the medical field needs people who understand what life is like living with chronic pain so I decided that I wanted to go into Biomedical engineering. As someone who has lived their entire life with chronic pain and chronic injuries I believe that you can still live a fun and energetic life, it just might look a little different from others.
I hope that my work and story can help inspire others to continue doing what they love after injuries.
This website was started in 2020 by one of my friends Elise Bagley. She is a former Super Skipper and has been involved with the sport for much longer than I have. She is a teaching student at UNCC. She has also had her fair share of injuries and tough moments with Jump Rope. She started this website back in 2020 after she had broken her ankle and wanted something to do after graduating High School.
In 2024 she gave me the website to continue, to help people get into the sport. I hope that this website and a little bit about the people involved with the sport will give you a better understanding about who we are and why we do what we do.
